Who Am I?
Being raised in Hawaii, I was always surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of island life. Whether it was the different colors of blue ocean in Puako, the streams of Waimea, the sunsets over Lanai from Kula, or just the smile of a young kid playing in the shorebreak of Makena, Hawaii fills you with picturesque mental images you’ll always remember.
My photography journey started with surf photos when I was in middle school, just so I could keep myself busy between surf sessions. After taking a few years off, I started back up again as a way to document my other favorite form of art, cooking. When I felt like I knew the ropes of food photography in my home kitchen, I ventured out on some commercial work and was lucky enough to have images displayed in the In-Flight magazines of Delta & Southwest Airlines, as well as in some local newspapers.
Next was concert photography. The community of “island boys arbroad” allowed me to take concerts shots of bands that I grew up with, then expanded from there.
If there’s a theme in my wide array of photography subjects, it’s just capturing things that I am truly passionate about. A photographer's sole goal should be to allow others to see the beauty in a scene that they saw.
